Frank Bannister was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. He holds a Masters in Healthcare Administration from Chapman University and a BA in Social Work from Marshall University. He relocated from Kaiserslautern, Germany in July 2010 to Auburn, Washington and transferred his life membership to Post 1741.  He served in the US Army for 21 years as a Medical Service Corps Officer and for five years as an enlisted Soldier Medic. He still serves the US Army as a Civil Servant, Senior Healthcare Administrator at Madigan Army Medical Center.

 

Frank Joined the VFW in November 2001 while on Active Duty Serving in Kaiserslautern Germany. Since joining Post 1741 Frank has held Chairman of Membership Committee and Commander from 2011- 2015. Post 1741 earned selection to the All State Team from 2013 to 2015 and All-American Post in 2014-2015. Frank has also served as District 11, Chief of Staff, Veteran of the Year Committee Chair for District 11 and National AIDE-DE-CAMP in 2015-2016.

Significant military assignments include: Chief of Staff for Landstuhl Regional Medical Center (LRMC); Commander, Baumholder, Army Health Clinic, Chief Patient Administration Division (PAD, ( LRMC) and PAD Consultant to Europe Regional Medical Command; Patient Admin Officer, US Army V Corps in Heidelberg, Germany; Chief, Clinical Support Division, Madigan Army Medical Center (MAMC); Administrative Officer, Department of Medicine (MAMC), Deputy Chief PAD (MAMC); Chief PAD 121 EVAC Hospital, Company Commander, HHC 121 EVAC Hospital and 18th Medical Command , Seoul Korea; Aide-de-Camp to CG, AMEDD Center in 2014and School, Fort Sam Houston, Texas; Chief PAD, Fort Monmouth Army Hospital and Medical Platoon Leader, 3/60th Infantry Battalion at Fort Lewis, Washington.

Military Awards include: Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medals (5), Army Commendation Medals (4), Army Achievement Medals (3) and other service ribbons. He was inducted into the Military Order of Medical Merit and the Honorable Order of Saint Barbara. He also earned the Outstanding Military Volunteer Award in 2004.
