Derek is a native of Ithaca, New York and served in the US Navy from 1984 to 1993 as a Gunner's Mate aboard the USS Whipple. For over twenty-five years Derek has been a faithful public servant at Highline College in the Depatment of Public Safety. Derek and his wife Janine have been together for tweleve years and currently live in Tacoma.
